Welcome to the website of the OCD Association of South Africa!

Our goal is to provide a place for OCD sufferers, their family members, mental health professionals, and anyone else with an interest in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, to call their own.

South Africa is in many ways a resource-strapped country when it comes to OCD, but our website aims to change this. Here you can find accurate, up-to-date information on the diagnosis and treatment of OCD, as well as research into the causes of this disorder. Our blog provides an interactive forum for sharing, support and advice. We hope you will use this peer support as a catalyst for your personal change and development. We also offer tips and strategies on the effective management of OCD in both adults and children.

About OCD SA

The OCD Association of South Africa was founded in 1991 by Paul Serebro, largely because of his own experiences and difficulties encountered with OCD. After feeling alone and that nobody understood, Paul established OCDSA. His idea was to engage others with OCD, creating a form of comradeship amongst sufferers, empowering OCD patients, stimulating OCD research and gathering useful information to help others. The association focuses on teaching people how to lead a normal and productive life despite the obstacles presented by this disorder.
